Did you know you can create an awesome BI analytics dashboard and have it on your phone? Power BI has an app for that!
And it's very easy to set up!
Actually, you don't really need to do anything other than downloading the app from your mobile devices store. For Power BI, it's just called "Power BI".
Upon launching the app, it'll ask you to sign in. After doing so, you'll see frequent and recent dashboards and/or reports.
If you haven't set up a mobile layout for your dashboard, the view will default to landscape mode and will look exactly how it appears on your computer. This may be fine for your case. However, you can design a mobile friendly layout for your users too.
1) Create a mobile view for Power BI
To do this, you'll need to open the dashboard via Power BI desktop (not PowerBI.com). Navigate to the "View" tab, then click the "Mobile Layout" button.
2) Drag and drop your visuals onto the canvas
From here, all you need to do is drag and drop the visuals onto the mobile phone canvas. All colors and fonts reflect what is set on the desktop view (meaning, you can't change the settings of a visual from the mobile view).
3) Publish your changes to the web
After you are done creating your mobile layout, you simply need to publish to web. Then, open the Power BI app on your mobile device and you will see the changes.
How to set a different style for the mobile view?
So, what if you want a different style for the mobile view? You may want this because some visuals on the desktop view don't really fit on the mobile view (font is too big, etc.).
1) Create a new tab specific to the mobile view.
2) Create a new dashboard specific for the mobile view.
